What is standard thermal insulation covers?
Standard thermal insulation covers, also referred to as removable insulation jackets, lagging jackets or thermal blankets, are pre-designed covers built to fit the most common valve, flange and pipework dimensions used across UK industry.
The key difference from hard lagging is simple. These can be removed by your maintenance team in seconds, without any specialist tools or training. The inspection or repair gets done, the cover goes back on, and your insulation is performing as it should. No stripping costs, no reinstatement delays, no covers left off and forgotten about.

Key features

The business case for insulating your valves and flanges
An uninsulated valve loses the heat equivalent of several metres of bare pipe every single day. Across a plant room with dozens of exposed valves, that adds up to a significant and entirely avoidable energy cost. Fitting removable insulation covers is one of the fastest-payback energy efficiency investments available to building services and industrial operators, with many sites seeing payback in under twelve months.
Beyond energy savings, properly insulated valves bring surface temperatures down to safe levels, protecting your maintenance team from burns. They also guard against condensation and corrosion, which extends the service life of the equipment underneath.
For applications outside our standard range, including very high-temperature plants such as steam systems and boilers, see our high temperature insulation jackets
