High Temperature Thermal Insulation Jackets

Some applications simply push standard insulation beyond its limits. Steam distribution mains, boiler plant, turbine casings, heat exchangers running at sustained high temperatures: these need specialist materials and a design built around the actual conditions on site.

Lagflex manufactures high temperature removable insulation jackets for exactly these applications. Every jacket is designed and built in-house, using materials selected specifically for their thermal resistance, durability and long-term performance under continuous high-heat conditions. Contact us to discuss your application, and we will recommend the right specification.

When do you need high temperature insulation jackets?

If your application falls within the temperature range of standard HVAC or heating systems, our standard thermal insulation covers will almost certainly be the right starting point. High temperature jackets are the answer when operating temperatures exceed what standard mineral wool systems can reliably handle.

They are also the right choice wherever permanent insulation is impractical because of frequent maintenance access. High temperature lag jackets give you the same thermal performance as hard insulation, but they come off in seconds and go back on just as quickly. For steam trap testing, valve maintenance and instrumentation checks, that matters enormously.

High temperature insulation jackets applications

Our high temperature range is used across the following applications:

Need an insulation jacket for a valve type not covered here or a fully bespoke solution for a non-standard fitting? We can handle both.

Materials and construction

Material selection depends on operating temperature, the specific application and any chemical or environmental exposure.
Our team will advise on the best specification for your situation.
The options available include:

Outer casing:

High-grade silicone-coated glass fibre, ceramic fibre cloth or stainless steel mesh outer, depending on temperature and environment

Insulation fill:

High-density mineral wool, ceramic fibre blanket or microporous insulation for the most demanding applications

Inner facing:

Aluminium foil or stainless steel liner, where required for chemical resistance or radiant heat reflection

Fasteners:

Stainless steel lacing hooks, draw cords or clip systems suited to repeated removal in high-heat environments

FAQ’s

Frequently Asked Questions

The exact temperature rating depends on the materials selected for your specific application. Contact us with your operating temperature and application details, and we will recommend the appropriate specification.

Yes. Steam system insulation is one of the most common applications for our high temperature range, including steam mains, valve sets, condensate lines, steam traps and boiler plants.
Yes. Removability is a central feature of our high temperature range. Jackets are designed for fast removal and reinstallation, even after prolonged exposure to high temperatures.

Yes. We have experience supplying custom high temperature jackets for turbine casings, steam inlet pipework and associated valves. Contact us with drawings or dimensions, and we will design a solution.

If you are dealing with steam, process heat, boiler plant or other high-temperature applications, our high temperature range is recommended. For standard HVAC and heating applications, our standard range is the starting point. Contact our team, and we will advise.
